Assessing the frequency of care plan attention to the expressed
spiritual or religious needs of service users in a Health and Social
Care Trust: a descriptive study (part of A Masters degree) |
Julia Walsh of Sheffield Health and Social Care Trust undertook this
exciting survey of service users in 2011. The work is complementary
to that of Wilf Mc Sherry and should be invaluable for those seeking
evidence of the need for spiritual care in mental health. |

The Royal College of Nursing spirituality survey: challenges and
opportunities for nursing |
Professor Wilf McSherry designed and ran the only nursing survey of
this kind under the auspices of the RCN. While not specific to
mental health its findings are of much interest in mental health as
much as others areas of nursing care. NB. Professor McSherry added
the proviso that the 10% response rate given on slide 10 was 1% but
that with all factors taken into account it was near to 10%. |
